Catherine McAuley 09.02.2021

On September 29th 1778 in Dublin, Ireland Catherine McAuley was born. She was born with two siblings a brother and a sister, and at the age of only five years old her father died in 1783 and also at the age of ten her mother die in 1788. She always wanted to help the poor so she dedicated her life to caring for the poor so that's why see made the Sisters of Mercy.

She wanted to help the poor so much she made the house of mercy in the year 1827 on Bogget st which was a rich street. The rich can fund and help Catherine and there where over 100 sisters of mercy and about 14 foundations.

In 1827, Mary Catherines sister died and then two years later in 1829 Mary's husband Dr William McAulcy Died and left being a legal guardian of nine children. Cathrine McAuley died a the age of 63 in 1841 on Bogget street.
